About
Reality House
Established
in 1967, Reality House provides culturally-appropriate substance
abuse and HIV treatment and prevention services to New Yorkers living
mainly in Harlem, Washington Heights and the South Bronx. Our motto:
Rebuilding lives...one person at a time, speaks to the quality individualized
treatment and supportive services we provide needy persons. We offer
group and individual substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitation
including career planning, job placement, GED preparation courses,
parenting skills training, legal assistance, housing assistance,
free clothing and meals daily.
To
reduce the spread of HIV among African-American and Latino New Yorkers,
we offer free rapid-HIV testing (Orasure) and counseling. The agency's
strongest emphasis is on community education and prevention activities.
